Herbal Medicine For Health

Jaundice Herbs

There are many cause of Jaundice including alcohol abuse, cirrhosis, gallstones, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, primary sclerosing cholangitis, certain medications and viral hepatis. It is relatively simple to diagnose Jaundice because there is yellow staining of the skin and the whites of the eyes which may include other body tissues and fluids. The urine may turn dark due to the excess bilirubin being excreted through the kidneys. Other symptoms may include sking itching, clay colored stools, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and fever. Herbal medicine has proven to clear jaundice as demonstrated in clinical studies.

While the liver has the capacity to regenerate, most people with liver disease develop sequela that manifest in early stages as depression, apathy, low grade fever, personality changes, insomnia, weight loss, and mental impairments. Not everyone develops all sequela and they tend to fluctuate but, over time sequela can become serious. As liver disease progresses it may include jaundice, abdominal fluid retention, spleen enlargement, high liver blood pressure, kidney failure, esophogal vein bleeding, coma and liver cancer. Typically patients do not experience late state sequela until 80% of the liver is destroyed.

Yin, Yang, Harmony & Balance
Western doctors tend to treat single organs while herbal medicines treat the whole body. Like an Orchestra your kidneys, liver, spleen, lungs, pancreas and heart must work in harmony to generate vital Qi energy and health. When one organ malfunctions all others are effected and herbal medicines restore health by harmonizing all the body's organs. Chinese medicine formulas almost never contain single herbs, instead synergistic formulas with multiple herbs are used to make them more effective than single herbs. Many contain "adaptagens" which reduce activity in overactive organs and increase activity in underactive organs to balance Yin & Yang and normalize health.

Jaundiclear Tablets / Yin Zhi Huang Pian
Scutellaria Baicalensis Georgi Formula
  Information Resources

Jaundiclear is based on the Chinese formula Yin Zhi Huang. Scutellaria Baicalensis Georgi has been recently added to the formula to increase its effectiveness. Baylor College of Medicine conducted a clinical study concluding that it supports bilirubin metabolism and helps to clear jaundice. This compound supports liver function and inflammation and has high antioxidant activity. Baicalein a bio-active flavenoid in Scutellaria supports the prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) which is an important consideration for people with Hep B, Hep C infections and other Hepatitis genotypes.

Jaundice causes skin problems and eye yellowing from the accumulation of bile pigment in the body. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation indicated Yin Zhi Huang ehances bilirubin clearance from the liver by stimulating CAR (Constitutive Androstane Receptor) production which was found to regulate bilirubin. When the liver has insufficient CAR, it can no longer clear bilirubin. Jaundiclear supports the bodys production of CAR and liver function.
